About Tipperary Polish Society

Our aims are: 1. Co-working with other Polish & Irish organisations which are already formed, 2. Holding integrated social gatherings in Thurles, Clonmel, Cashel & Nenagh, which could lead to tourism for the county & Poland. 3. establishing cooperation with Polish and Irish organizations with similar profile, 4. uniting people with similar interests (history, literature, theater, sports ect) 5. promoting Polish culture, tourism, sport, Polish and English language, Polish and Irish history, 6. promoting tourism and sport in Ireland & Poland. 7. organising a variety of events, happenings, workshops, festivals of Polish and Irish culture and traditions to enable the integration of Polish-Irish, 8. establishing cooperation with Polish and Irish organizations with similar profile.

What’s Involved

Tasks associated with this opportunity include: 1. Acting as a liason between the Polish Tipperary Society and local community and organisations. 2. Promoting the work of the Tipperary Polish Society. 3. Promoting the positivity of interculture integration. 4. Educating the local community in the skills and services available in the Tipperary Polish community. 5. Updating the communities website with local news and events (full training will be provided). 6. Society is looking for volunteers in the following areas: event officers, art/craft workshops officers, social welfare issues officers, public relations and development officers, projects officers.

7. The Tipperary Polish Society has a strong presence in the major towns of South Tipperary and is looking for volunteers to help expand into North Tipperary (eg: Tipperary Town / Roscrea / Nenagh / Templemore / Thurles)
