Pieta House founder to launch Tipperary Darkness into Light

Joan Freeman, founder and CEO of suicide crisis centre Pieta House, will be in Roscrea on Friday, 12th April to launch the 2013 Darkness into Light event supported by Electric Ireland. Taking place on Saturday 11th May, this year’s Darkness into Light Tipperary event will get underway at the Scout Hall in Roscrea and organisers are hoping for a turnout of over a thousand people.

Darkness into Light is a unique fundraising event which begins at 4.00am as thousands of people gather in darkness at locations across Ireland and walk or run the 5km route as dawn is breaking. This is the second year that Darkness into Light will be taking place in Tipperary. Following a record turnout of 15,000 people last year in 14 counties, this year’s Darkness into Light walk takes place at 20 locations nationwide.

Darkness into Light Tipperary will be launched at 5pm on Friday the 12th of April in the Damer Court Hotel, Roscrea and all are welcome to attend.

Pieta House will soon open a suicide crisis centre in Roscrea to serve County Tipperary. Registration for Darkness into Light Tipperary with Electric Ireland is available online now at dil.pieta.ie.
