Lough Derg Sub Aqua Club Notes

The club held it’s monthly meeting last Wednesday. All divers must inform the D.O. Tom Shaw if they are planning to go diving outside of organised club dives. This is just for safety reason and to fulfil insurance requirements. A cox’n course is being held in Kilkee on 19th and 20th April for any members who want to learn how to drive a boat. Diving for the next few Sundays will be in Kilkee including the May Bank Holiday Weekend. The Regional dive weekend is being held in Cahirciveen on 18th and 19th May.
Snorkelling on Lough Derg has started now and takes place every Wednesday at 7pm from Youghal Quay. Snorkelling is important to maintain fitness levels and makes diving more enjoyable for all. Being fitter means you use less air while underwater so can enjoy more of our beautiful underwater vistas and sea life. Club members are reminded not to respond to the club phone for group texts but to contact the person named in messages if required to. We are on the lookout for a new home for club equipment, so if anyone knows anyone who has some spare room, a shed or similar please inform some of the committee. The next monthly meeting is on Wednesday 1st May. Keep up to date with club activities via our website www.ldsac.ie and find us on Facebook.
