Comedy ‘Beating Berlusconi’ looks at Liverpool Football Club history – this Saturday in Nenagh

Writer John Graham Davies’ ‘Beating Berlusconi’ is a one man comedy show covering forty years, forty characters and the greatest football night ever. The show kicks of at 8 p.m. in Nenagh Arts Centre this Saturday night (May 4th).

Former Brookside actor  Paul Duckworth is the actor portraying them all in this irreverent scouser’s comic odyssey which climaxes in the true story of the Liverpool fan who actually ended up sitting next to the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi at the Champions’ League Final in 2005.

‘Beating Berlusconi’ is a laughter and tears tale of one man’s attempt to rediscover his belief in himself, his club, his city and his class. The Guardian newspaper said of the show: “Even for non-football fans, it’s a punchy piece of good old-fashioned popular theatre that wears its passions and prejudices on its sleeve. A show with balls, in more ways than one!”

Tickets are available at €15 on the door. Advance booking to secure your seat – online or from 067 34400. The show begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, 4th May.
