Southern Tenant Folk Union at The Source Thurles

Southern Tenant Folk Union

Southern Tenant Folk Union are a Scottish Folk/ Bluegrass Band from Edinburgh and their new album “Hello Cold Goodbye Sun” is their fifth to be released since they formed in 2006. Their live show is exciting, engaging and in their hands bluegrass is effortlessly blended with other genres – folk, roots, Americana to make a potent timeless sound. Previous albums have been praised in The Guardian, Independent, and Sunday Times and they have also performed live in session on BBC Radio 2, Radio 4’s Loose Ends, BBC Ulster and RTE One TV and Radio. These musicians have been marked as one of the bands to watch out for in 2013.

STFU are a seven piece all acoustic band with banjo, mandolin, fiddle & harmony vocals and with nods to The Carter Family and Steve Earle, they perform with soul and beauty on their murder ballads and laments, and tear it up with their hootenanny sawdust-kickers and high energy sound! If you love folk and bluegrass, you will fall in love with this captivating live band. Do not miss the opportunity to see them for one night only at The Source Arts Centre.
