The Best of Irish Music at The Source Thurles

Julie Feeney Friday 16 November 8pm There isn’t an artist quite like Julie Feeney at work in Ireland today. Julie is a multi award winning singer-composer who releases her third album Clocks on 16 November. As part of a nationwide tour Julie will perform with ten different choirs in ten different towns across Ireland. The Source Arts Centre is delighted to have Julie perform on stage the night of her album launch, as are Cashel Community School Choir who will perform with her. Tickets €18/15 conc. Scullion Saturday 17 November 8pm Scullion has recorded a new collection of songs and to celebrate the band have embarked on their first national tour in over 20 years. The Source Arts Centre is delighted to be one of only 12 intimate tour dates nationwide. The music and songs of Sonny Condell are the foundation of the unique Scullion sound. His artistry is the creative beating heart of the trio which also includes Philip King and Robbie Overson. This special evening at The Source Arts Centre will celebrate that sound. Tickets €18/15 conc.Damien Dempsey Wednesday 19 December 8pm ‘Damo’ as he is affectionately known tells it like it is. He was singing about despair and empowerment when the boom was booming. At Oxegen 2006, he said that Patrick Pearse would be “turning in his grave” at the state of modern Ireland. Since then a truly talented singer songwriter has toured the world, playing his own headline shows and supporting legends such Dylan, Sinead O’Connor, The Pogues and Willie Nelson. Tickets €22/20 conc.Crooning at Christmas Friday 28 December 8pm A special Christmas concert for the entire family, featuring Rat Pack star Liam O’Brien and the Million Dollar Swing Band. Former Emmerdale star and veteran of the UK jazz swing scene, Liam O’Brien brings his hit show to the Source this year for his annual yuletide celebration of the swing era. With all your favourite Christmas hits as well as some Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Bublé classics, this is a very festive highlight for your Christmas calendar. Tickets €18/15 conc.
