For  two thousand and thirteen
There’s going to be a gathering
The likes you’ve never seen
From Cork and on to Derry
From Kerry to Tyrone
The great Irish Diaspora
Are on the journey home

Chorus

There’ll be Courtin’ in the kitchen
There’ll be whiskey in the Jar
Murphys back in Mallow

And Ryans back in Ring
The Obamas back in Moneygall
For the Irish Gathering

There’ll be dancing there’ll be film
Exhibitions of great art
Storytelling and fine singing
That will lift the Irish heart
You’ll hear fiddlers and melodeons
From Kilkee on to Athlone
And the lilt of Irish laughter
Welcoming all home
