Borrisokane Jobs Fair 20th September

Borrisokane Jobs Fair
Thursday, 20th September 2012 – 7.00pm to 9.30pm
Borrisokane Community College
On Thursday, 20th September Borrisokane Localswitch Association will be announcing some exciting plans for the town at their Jobs Fair. The Association has been working alongside the Community Forum to address the needs of local residents.    At their first public meeting, local people made it clear they wanted reductions in the cost of living, the creation of local jobs and general promotion of all that Borrisokane has to offer.
Since February, things have been progressing steadily – the establishment of a new food and craft market and community garden, the first town in Ireland to have signed up to LocalSwitch Ireland initiative and visits to the town  from TV broadcasters Duncan Stewart and Feargal Quinn.  Funding has been secured from North Tipperary LEADER Partnership, and now the Association is ready to reveal the results of their extensive research with plans for several new enterprises.  They aim to launch a number of these businesses before the end of this year, creating the first of 50 jobs promised for the town within the next five years.
Our  unique self-help attitude to job creation has attracted the attention of local and national media.  Borrisokane, like all other small towns, has untapped resources – and it is our intention to find out who, what and where these are, and how they can best be used.  We live in a small  rural town in the centre of Ireland with huge potential.
We need to talk, to be open to new ideas, be prepared to share information and resources to progress.  Come along to Borrisokane Community College on September 20th at 7.00pm to 9.30pm.  Everyone  is invited to bring a friend to this informative evening and take this opportunity to be part of Borrisokane’s winning team!
This invitation is open to all – young and not so young; the employed, self-employed and unemployed; the student and the teacher; the farmer and the townie!  Anyone that wants to be a part of this radical new way of generating employment needs to be there!
One small step from you, one giant leap for employment! Help us create these 50 jobs.
