The All Star Wars coming to Thurles

An epic saga of hurleys, heroes and hang sandwiches, it is a comic fun-fest in and probably the first musical about the GAA. All Star Wars is two hours of top shelf comedy script punctuated by fun filled comedic musical production numbers, where the separate spheres of music and hurling collide in a highly entertaining evening.

The gags, both verbal and visual come thick and fast and follow the adventures of Hugh Cullen, family man, GAA club man and all-round lost cause. Somewhere in the story Hugh is visited from the year 3012 by the enigmatic Obi Wan Camogie and well after this all mayhem and Monty Python-esque madness unfolds with plenty of references to ‘Star Wars’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ and appearances by characters such as King Henry of The Shefflin Order and Lady GAA GAA.

Throw into the mix even more familiar comic characters including Hugh’s motley crew of junior B team mates, the long-suffering wife who doesn’t see the husband and the local parish priest who effs and blinds in the dressing room! Players, pundits, commentators, selectors, and of course the committee will all feature in an amazing and colourful cast of 30. This is a show that will run and run. Advance booking recommended.
