Tipperary Ladies Gaelic Football Notes

Feile  Peil
Moyle Rovers were Tipperary’s repesititives in Peil Na Og which was held in Laois Offaly over last week end. Moyle travelled on Friday to play their host club Corralstown Kinnegad whom they beat 5-3 to 1-1. Next up on Saturday morning it was on to Edenderry to play the home team a game they won 2-1 to 0-2. This gave them a head to head against Naomh Conaill the Donegal champions for top place in their group. Another very good performance saw them through to Div. 2 semi-final on a score line 5-6 to no score.Lurgan from Co Cavan proved a bridge to fare for Moyle on this occasion and they lost 4-3 to 0-2 well done to all the Moyle Rover players and their mentors for representing Tipperary so well in this national competition.
Intermediate Team
Our intermediate team and management completed their preparation for the first round of all-Ireland championship which starts on Sunday next  July 1st with a good work out against a full strength Wexford team played in Clonmel Og on Thursday evening last. Though short a few first team players for this game all the team played well and came through without any injuries.  Next Sunday afternoon Tipperary will travel to a Longford venue to take on the home County in a game that neither team can afford to lose. All in Tipperary Ladies football  wish the team and management the best of luck. It would be great to see all the clubs in the county coming out and travel up to Longford to support this team.
Under 16 Munster A semi-final.
If the journey to Longford is too much on Sunday then supporters can make the shorter trip to Clonmel sports field to cheer on our under 16 team when they take on Cork in the Munster under 16 A semi-final on Wed 27th. Throw in is 7 o clock and we wish the team and their manager Tony Fox and his management team the best of look.

Under 12 championships
Last week three finals were played  A,B and B plate.Aherlow  and Thurles Sasfields gave a wonderful display of football in the A final.Aherlow were quickest to start and had 3-1 on the score board in the first 15 minutes before Thurles got into the game. 1-1 before half time gave Thurles some think to work on for the second half. The first half time score Aherlow 3-2 to Sars 1-1.The pep talk at half time certainly woke up the Thurles girls and they came out all guns blazing for the second half. Attack after attack failed to get the scores on the board but Thurles were in complete control of the game and eventually they scored 1-1. Try as they did the goal they needed would not come and the cross bar and upright saved Aherlow on at least three occasion. To keep Aherlow scoreless for the second half gives some indication as to how much Thurles controlled the second half but more than one element on the evening prevented them from going on and winning this game. Aherlow were relieved to hear the final whistle and lift their first under 12 title since 1995.
In the B final Lattin –Cullen won their first ever under 12 B titles when they beat last year’s B title winners Brian Borus on a score line of 4-3 to 2-1. Galtee Rovers had little difficulty in disposing of an under strength Cappawhite side in the under 12 B plate final.
