Family Open Day at The Source Thurles

The Source Library and Arts Centre will throw a special open day for families on Saturday 31st March. Pop in between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and discover a world of imagination. There will be story time, face painting, pavement art, and a treasure hunt for the little ones.

Tipp FM’s Fran Curry will broadcast his show from the library, from 12p.m. to 2 p.m.

Thurles Librarian Ann Marie Brophy says, “We’re very excited to hold this joint open day with The Source Arts Centre. The Source is for everyone in our community and we want to shout it from the rooftops.” Acting Director of The Source Arts Centre, Aislinn O’hEocha added, “Saturday 31st March is about discovering a space that you may not be familiar with – it’s getting to walk through an art exhibition, explore children’s and adults books, see what goes on backstage and sample culinary delights in The Source Café.”

On the day, The Source staff will advise on what The Source can offer you – from joining the library and choosing books for yourself and your children, to booking tickets for shows in the arts centre.

And, if you’ve ever wondered how the stage lights work or where the stars put on their glad rags you can join a backstage tour of the Arts Centre at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Please note that backstage tours must be booked in advance at 0504 90204.  After all that activity you can yours can enjoy a relaxing lunch, smoothie or coffee at the Source Café.

So, if you’ve never stepped through our doors before or just haven’t visited us for a while, put the date in your diary for a great free family day out. The Source is yours – come and explore. We look forward to welcoming you.
