Upcoming events at Nenagh Arts Centre

Film –‘Knuckle’
8pm, Thursday 2 February
Admission: €7

James Quinn McDonagh and Paddy ‘The Lurcher’ Joyce are names that demand attention: men related by blood but separated by a feud
that dates back generations.
As the heads of rival families, they train to represent their feuding Irish travelling clans, in their long-standing history of
violent bare-knuckle boxing.
With ‘Knuckle’, filmmaker Ian Palmer presents a hard-edged portrait of Irish Traveller male culture and explores the bond of
loyalty and the pressures to fight for the honour of your family name.

Theatre – ‘Beckett X3′
8pm, Tuesday 7 February
Admission: €15/12

Following last year’s successful Beckett show, the Arts Centre brings three of his short plays to Nenagh.
Cruel and humorous in equal measure, Beckett’s work shines a light on the human condition.
The plays this evening are:

1) THAT TIME: Two observers who may or may not be officials discuss another man.
2) PLAY: An Irish labourer after years in Britain looks back on his earlier life and his disappointing career.
3) ROCKABYE: An old woman, sick of life, rocks herself into the next life.
