Summer Smallholders Picnic

Following on from the success of Spring into Smallholding, there is
another great day out planned at Clonacody House, Fethard.
The Smallholders Summer Picnic will be open all day on Saturday, June
25th.  As usual, entrance is €5.00 for adults and free for kids, and
there will be free talks and workshops all day as well as lots of
interesting stalls and attractions.  The focus this time is on
enjoying the first produce from our backyard farms and gardens, and
taking time to relax.  Eamonn O’Dwyer of Tipp FM’s “Down Your Way”
will be joining us, and he’ll have plenty to see!
Work is progressing well in the walled garden, with first new potatoes
ready to eat on the day.  Regulars like Ashgate Butchers, Tippy
Chicks and Good Life supplies will be there, with hens, pigs and
equipment for sale, live butcher demonstrations, and of course plenty
of delicious food!  We’ll
also have some new things to see including an open hive display from
North Tipperary Beekeepers, square foot gardening and childrens’ shows
and workshops from Little Big Top.
You can find all the details, and lots of pictures from our last
event, at www.silverwoodireland.com/smallholders-fairs There are a
few spaces left for stallholders so if you have garden produce,
plants, tools or anything else you’d like to sell on the day, be sure
to book your place online or call Lily on 087 612 8577.
