Winners Profiles

Company: the ant team
Businesswoman: Louisa Condon

the ant team is a unique creative design & illustration service which specialises in creating logos, brochures, leaflets, advertising, posters, websites and illustration.

Based in Tipperary Technology Park, Thurles, this inspiring colony came to life in 2009 and has since gone from strength to strength under the careful guidance of Louisa Condon, who personally produces all of the ant team’s artwork.

On hearing that she had been nominated for the Network North Tipperary, Business Women of The Year Awards, 2011, Louisa beamed, “I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to express my passion and love of graphic design to my clients. This nomination solidifies the effort and determination that is executed by the ant team day in and day out. I couldn’t be happier.”

Louisa’s change of career saw her leave architecture at the tender age of 19 to pursue her love of graphic design however; today she leaves her clients love-struck by her artistic talent.

Interview with Louisa:

Who inspires you?
I would say Aidan O’Brien the horse trainer. I admire people who have a passion for what they do. To love what you do is everything.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I purposely picked a name for my company with expansion in mind. So, I would like to see the ‘colony’ expanding to support our greeting card business, day to day things like flyers and our bigger campaigns such as bill boards and branding.

What’s your favourite place and why?
The city of London. I wrote my thesis in college for my degree on the advertising of the London Underground because I was so intrigued. There wasn’t enough time in the day to see everything and take in all the life, markets, fashion and creativity.
