Moycarkey Coolcroo AC CLub Notes

Day 2 & 3 of the County Outdoor Track & Field Championships for U/12 to Junior athletes took place in Templemore Track on Saturday & Sunday last, 7th & 8th May. The Club had a very successful weekend winning 14 individual medals (3 gold, 8 silver, 3 bronze) & 1 set of Relay medals, gold in the Boys U/13 4 x 100m race. In the Boys U/12 we had 3 County Champions when Sean Mockler won the High Jump, David Ryan won the 65m Hurdles & Jack Fallon won the Ball Throw. Sean Mockler was also 2nd in the Ball Throw & Jack Fallon was 3rd in the High Jump. Our Boys U/12 produced great results over the last two weekends dominating these Championships by winning County titles in all the Boys U/12 events – David Ryan won the 60m, 65mH & Long Jump, Jack Fallon won the 600m & Ball Throw, Sean Mockler won the High Jump, Oran Mulhall won the Shot Putt & our Boys won the 4 x 100m Relay. The Ryan twins, Declan & Eimear had a good Championships with Declan winning silver in the Boys U/13 600m & High Jump & bronze in the Long Jump & Eimear taking silver in both the Girls U/13 600m & High Jump. Ciara Mockler also performed very well in the Girls U/15 Throws competitions winning silver in both the Shot & Discus & bronze in the Javelin. In the Girls U/18 Walk, Siobhan Hennessy performed well to win silver. Our Boys U/13 4 x 100m Relay team of Gavin Hayden, Declan Ryan, Oran Mulhall, Jack Fallon & Rhys Shelly had a good run to win gold from Carrick-On-Suir A.C. to be crowned County Champions. Other athletes who competed very well over the weekend but who were outside the medals were:- Oran Mulhall, 5th in Boys U/12 High Jump & 7th in Ball Throw; Rhys Shelly, 6th in Boys U/12 High Jump & 8th in the Ball Throw; Conor Cummins, 9th in Boys U/12 Ball Throw; Gavin Hayden, 5th in Boys U/13 Long Jump; Kieren Hennessy, 4th in Boys U/15 800m; Kieren Cummins, 5th in Boys U/15 Shot Putt & Niamh Woodlock, 6th in Girls U/12 High Jump & 13th in Ball Throw. Well done to Laurenz Egan who took part in the Annerville 10km Road Race in Clonmel on Sunday last, 8th May. Laurenz finished 158th in a time of 48.50mins. Well done also to David Ryan who took part in the Great Limerick 10km Run on Sunday 1st May.

Sat 25th June – AAI Juvenile Team Games for U/9 to U/11 in Templemore.

Sun 26th June – County Tipperary Community Games Athletic Finals in Templemore at 12 noon.

Training for the Outdoor Season continues every Monday evening from 7.45pm to 8.45pm & every Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in Templemore Track. Cost is €2.00 per athlete. New members & help are always welcome.
