Congratulations & well done to Michael Mockler and Daniel & David Ryan who all won Munster medals at the weekend.  Michael won Munster Silver in the Master Men’s High Jump clearing a great height of 1.50m at the Munster Masters Track & Field Championships in CIT, Cork on Saturday last, 30th April. Daniel & David Ryan took part in the Munster Juvenile Pentathlons on the same day & in the same venue with Daniel winning gold in the Boys U/13 Pentathlon & his brother David winning silver in the Boys U/12 Pentathlon. Jack Fallon & Sean Mockler also competed very well in the Boys U/12 Pentathlon but were outside the medals on the day. Each age group took part in 5 different events on the day with points awarded for their placing in each event. David, Jack & Sean took part in 60m, 600m, Long Jump, High Jump & Shot Putt while Daniel competed in the Hurdles, 800m, High Jump, Long Jump & Shot Putt. Full results can be found on our website at

Day 1 of the County Outdoor Track & Field Championships for U/9 to U/12 athletes took place in Templemore Track on Sunday last, 1st May. The Club had a very successful day winning 15 individual medals (10 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze) & 4 sets of Relay medals (1 gold, 1 silver & 2 bronze). Our Club emerged as the strongest Club in the County for Boys winning 10 individual titles & 2nd best County Club overall to Nenagh Olympic A.C. Stars of the day were Dillon Ryan who won gold in the Boys U/9 300m & Long Jump & bronze in the 60m, Jack Ryan who won gold in the Boys U/11 60m & Long Jump, David Ryan who won gold in the Boys U/12 60m & Long Jump, Kyle Shelly who won gold in the Boys U/10 Ball Throw & bronze in the Long Jump, Adam O’Dwyer who won gold in the Boys U/10 500m, Oran Mulhall who won gold in the Boys U/12 Shot Putt, Jack Fallon who won gold in the Boys U/12 600m, Sean Mockler who won silver in the Boys U/12 Shot, Anna Ryan who won bronze in the Girls U/10 Long Jump & Tasha Tully who won bronze in the Girls U/11 Ball Throw. In the Relay competitions our Boys U/9 team of Dillon Ryan, Alex Tully, Cillian McDonagh, Adam Cantwell & Peter Dillon won bronze, our Boys U/10 team of Kyle Shelly, Adam O’Dwyer, Andrew Alexander & Dillon Ryan won bronze, our Boys U/11 team of Peter Melbourne, Shane Burke, Jack Ryan, Tom Maher & Liam McDonagh won silver & our Boys U/12 team of Conor Cummins, James Dillon, Jack Fallon, David Ryan & Bill O’Keefe won gold. Congratulations & well done to all our medal winners & to all our athletes who took part & competed so well on the day. Day 2 & Day 3 of the Outdoor Championships take place in Templemore on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th May. Entries for these days are on our website. Good luck to all our athletes who are taking part on the day.

A Club meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th May in the Community Hall, Two Mile Borris at 8.30pm. Can all Club members please attend.

Moycarkey Borris Community Games Area Athletic Finals will take place on Thursday 12th May in the Community Field, Two Mile Borris (beside Scoil Mochaomhog Naofa) at 7pm sharp. Events will range from U/8 to U/16 & all children must reside on the parish & be under the specified age as of 31st July 2011 (ie an U/8 athlete cannot be 8 on or before 31st July 2011).

Training for the Outdoor Season continues every Monday evening from 7.45pm to 8.45pm & every Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in Templemore Track. Cost is €2.00 per athlete. New members & help are always welcome.
