Mayor congratulates North Tipperary and District League Schoolboys on the u 11 inter County Development Day in Nenagh A.F.C Brickfields Facility

Over the last two weekends upwards to 500 children from around the country took part in two U 11 development blitzes. It culminated in 250 children and 30 coaches and 100 parents having a festival of football in the fantastic Nenagh A.F.C facility today.

Watching the games it is hard to believe that this was an u 11 tournament such was the high level of skill on display. The tournament was held in an atmosphere of football skill as opposed to winners or losers and the skill was clear to see. The development squad system is about developing all the players in the squads as opposed to the single individual player and it has worked very well here in North Tipperary with all players improving through the year.

Any system is only as good as the people running it and under James Scott North Tipperary have a skilled overseer. His whole team are dedicated to improving football in North Tipperary and it is working very successfully with the North Tipperary u 12 team in the All Ireland Final in Two Mile Borris next Saturday.

To see the 12 acre facility at Nenagh Brickfields packed with Children and Adults from all over the country is the type of sports tourism that we in Nenagh Town Council are proud to sponsor. Can I personally say a big thank you to all the organisers the referees and the people in the background and of course to Nenagh A.F.C for their wonderful facilities.
