Free recycling day in Roscrea, Templemore and Thurles with WEEE Ireland

– People of Tipperary encouraged to bring their electrical waste for collection!
Come along on Saturday 28th May, where WEEE Ireland in association with North Tipperary County
Council. The collection day will take place in the following locations from 10 am to 4pm only:
 Roscrea Shopping Centre car park
 Town car park, Mainsquare, Templemore
 Mid-Tipperary Mart, Thurles
This one day only event will allow the people of these towns and surrounding areas to get rid of any
household electrical equipment and batteries in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
Over 42 tonnes of electrical waste was collected at WEEE collection days in North Tipperary in 2010.
WEEE are hoping that the people of Roscrea, Templemore, Thurles and beyond will make a great
effort to beat this figure and continue to keep Tipperary free from electrical waste.
Anything in the home with a battery or a plug can be recycled at this Saturday’s collection day.
Waste collection specialists from WEEE Ireland will be there on the day to help you send your
toasters, vacuum cleaners, fridges and every other electrical item imaginable to a better place.
As a consumer of electrical items, you are entitled to bring your waste electrical equipment to your
electrical retailer when purchasing an item of similar type, i.e. on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis.
Waste batteries can be brought back to any battery retailer that sells similar batteries, even if you
don’t purchase anything. All WEEE and waste batteries can also be brought to your local civic
amenity site free of charge.

Opening hours: (Friday 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Ballaghveny Civic Amenity Site
Opening hours: (Friday & Saturday, 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.)
