County Tipperary Community Games News

Good luck to all our competitors who will be taking part in their chosen events at Weekend 1 of the National Community Games Finals in AIT, Athlone this weekend, 27th to 29th May. Timetable of Events for the weekend can be found at or Any competitors who have been previously registered should remember to bring their ID Badges with them to Athlone. For those competitors who have mislaid/lost badges, please arrive early to get a replacement badge which will be issued at a cost to the competitor.

The County Rounders Finals for Girls & Boys U/13 & U/15 will be held in the Old CBS School Grounds, Roscrea (same venue as last year) on Saturday 4th June 2011. Can all areas who have entered teams please confirm with Rounders Co-Ordinator Michael England as to whether their teams will be competing on the day. Michael’s contact details are 0505 21776. The starting time for competition will be confirmed once all teams have checked in with Michael. Please note for any new teams who will be attending, the Rounders competitions take some time to play & it is advisable to bring a packed lunch/chairs/picnic rug.

The County Skittles Finals will be held in Hillview, Clonmel on Sunday 5th June. Can all teams be there by 1.30pm for practice with the competition to start at 2pm.

The County Finals of GAA Games take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 6th June in Semple Stadium, Thurles. Gates open at 12.30pm with the 1st match starting at 1pm. Order of matches is as follows:-

1pm – Boys U/10 Gaelic Football – Roscrea v. Kilsheelan

2pm – Girls U/12 Gaelic Football – Thurles v. Cahir

3pm – Girls U/14 Camogie

4pm – Boys U/11 Hurling – Roscrea v. Cashel or Ballyclerihan

Please note that patrons will be charged at the gate as per previous years.

The County Athletics Finals will be held in Templemore Track on Sunday 26th June. Parade will start at 11.30am with competition commencing at 12 noon. Entry Forms are now available online at for both postal & e-mail entries. Postal entries should be sent to Kathleen England, Mount Butler, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary or e-mailed to by Friday 3rd June. Absolutely no entries will be accepted after that date.
