Burial Ground Seminar on 25th May at the Nenagh Arts Centre

A Seminar is being held in the Nenagh Arts Centre (formerly Town Hall), Banba Square, on Wednesday, 25th May, 2011 @ 7pm entitled “Care and Conservation of Historic Graveyards”.

This seminar will provide practical, appropriate and easy to understand advice and guidance on how to care for historic graveyards, whilst ensuring that no damage occurs to their historic fabric and character. Attendance will equip graveyard committees, community groups, historical societies etc and interested individuals with knowledge of the legislative requirements for working in historic graveyards and with best practice guidance on how to plan and proceed with caring for graveyards and recording memorials in graveyards.

This seminar will be of value to the owners of historic graveyards, cemetery committee members, community groups, tidy towns associations, historical/heritage society members, genealogical enthusiasts, landowners, archaeologists, architects, engineers, local authority staff, elected members and interested individuals.
