Aonach ar Siul, Nenagh Walking Club Walking Festival

Our second Walking Festival takes place this weekend, We open with a launch on Friday night and reception at the Abbey Court Hotel commencing at 8pm.  All are invited to attend, with guest speakers and slide shows, and interduction to the routes by walk leaders. Registration will also take place for all walks. £15.00 covering both days or £10.00 for one day.
On Saturday morning at 9am Walk A will be set in motion when registration will also be conducted at the Abbey Court Hotel Paddy Seymour will lead this walk which is 18 km and requires a high level of fitness. Duration is 5-6 hours. At 10 am Donal Mackey will lead the B walk when registration will commence also at hotel. This walk is 12km and a good level of fitness is required for this 3-3.5 hours.
Walk C will commence registration at 11 am. With Mary Seymour as leader this 10km walk requires a moderate level of fitness for walk duration of 2.5-3hours. All walks on Saturday are in the Portroe area.  All walkers are advised to have suitable walking boots, raingear,rucksack,food and drink. Walkers must be over 18 years to participate.
On Saturday night there is a Barbeque and Music to suit all ages,starting at 8.30pm at the Abbey Court Hotel. Cost £15 per person. A good night promised to meet old friends and support Aonach ar Siul.
On Sunday all registrations again at Abbey Court Hotel, Starting at 9 am when Aidan Dillion will guide you on the A walk.  16 km walk with a high level of fitness required for this 6-7hours duration. At 10 am walk B wil be lead by Pat Delaney which is 14km requires a moderate level of fitness for this 4-4.5 hours duration. Walk C on Sunday will start registration at 11 am. A 6km walk requiring a moderate level of fitness will be 2.5-3 hours duration.Walk leader is Tim Mounsey. All walks on Sunday are in the Killoscully area. As above all walkers must be properly attired and over 18 years. All WALKERS MUST CHECK IN ON RETURNING FROM WALKS AT FINISHING POINT. Aonach Ar Siul promotes Leave No Trace.  No Dogs Allowed on walks.
