Tipperary County Athletics News 10th April

Upcoming Juvenile fixtures are as follows:-

Sat 16th April – Leevale Open Sports in CIT commencing at 10.30am for Juveniles & 2pm for Seniors.

Sun 17th April – Shot & Javelin Coaching Day with National Coaches in Templemore Track. There will be 2 sessions starting with the first 2 hour session at 10:30am which will be for beginners in Shot & Javelin. The second session will commence at 1.00pm & will be for advanced athletes in Shot & Javelin. There will be a €5 charge for Athletes and Coaches for each session. Sat 30th April – Munster Juvenile Multi Events Championships in CIT.

Sun 1st May – County Outdoor Juvenile Championships for U/9 to U/12 athletes in Templemore Track at 11.30am.

All athletes confined to their own age group categories in individual events. All Relays & 600m races will be on time only. In Relay Races, athletes may move up one age group only. See further information below.

Wed 4th May – East Munster Secondary Schools Girls Track & Field Championships.

Sat 7th May & Sun 8th May – County Outdoor U/12 to Junior Track & Field Championships in Templemore Track at 11.30am on both days. Entry forms & all details of the 3 days of the forthcoming County Outdoor Championship have now been sent to all Clubs & posted on our website at www.tipperaryathetics.com . Hurdles for all ages from U.13 upwards. Athletes U.13 must compete in own age.  Athletes U.14 upwards may move up one age group e.g. U.14 may compete U.15, U.16 competes U.17 etc. All races on the 200m track will be on time only, middle distance & Relays. In Relay Races, athletes may move up two age groups (i.e. Under 11, 12 and 13 may be on the under 13 team except where a club has entered more than one team in any age group may only move up one age group). Wed 11th May – East Munster Secondary Schools Boys Track & Field Championships.

Sat 21st May – Munster Secondary Schools Track & Field Championships in CIT.

Sat 4th June – Irish Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore.

Sat 11th June – Munster U/9 to U/11 Team Games & U/12 & U/13 Track & Field Championships in Ennis Track.

Sun 12th June – Munster U/9 to U/11 Team Games & U/12 & U/13 Track & Field Championships in Ennis Track.

Sat 18th June – Munster U/14 to U/19 Track & Field Championships in Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Sun 19th June – Munster U/14 to U/19 Track & Field Championships in Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Below are some important notes in relation to our upcoming County Outdoor Track & Field Championships:-

  • All athletes must be registered with the AAI through their Club.
  • All athletes  must be under age for the entire year ending 31st December, 2011.
  • The choice of footwear is optional, maximum length of spikes allowed is 5mm.
  • Athletes must wear their Club singlets.
  • The rules of Templemore Track must be obeyed at all times by Officials and Supporters.
  • The County Championship for U9 to U12 will be run as individual events. Remember Munster Entries for U.9, U10, U11 will have to be a 2 x 2 entry from each Club, these entries will be selected from the qualifications of the athletes from our championship.
  • All sprint heats will be timed. It would be helpful if Clubs would inform us who their seeded athletes are.
  • All middle distance races in these age groups will be run on time only.
  • All U11 & U12 Athletes must jump from board in Long Jump for County and Munster Championships.
  • Any Club that does not wish for their athletes to compete in the Munster Championship, please inform our County Secretary, Emby Walsh.
