The Legendary Frankie Gavin & DeDannan for The Source

Music lovers are in for a real treat on Saturday 16th when the legendary Frankie Gavin brings the latest incarnation of DeDannan to The Source Arts Centre for one night only. The band are currently on the road with their 32 county ‘Up Close and Personal’ tour and Thurles is the chosen Tipperary stop off.

The Current DeDannan features Frankie Gavin on fiddle, flutes & whistles. Fresh from his entry in the 2010 Guinness Book of Records as the world’s fastest fiddle player, we know we can expect some mind bogglingly incredible playing from the man himself. He is joined by Damien Mullane on accordion, Eric Cunningham on percussion, flutes & whistles, Mike Galvin on bouzouki and guitar and Michelle Lally on vocals.

This current band have performed everywhere from the White House to Bejing Opera House. They have also recorded with list of musicians that sounds like a Who’s Who of the music business including the Rolling Stones. So, you can be sure that this is going to be a special evening. For those of you who have seen Frankie Gavin & DeDannan before, this is a chance to get reacquainted. For those that haven’t, prepare for a performance that is bound to blow you away.
