We all thought the elections were over, but not for Macra na Feirme which is holding its Presidential elections over the next few weeks. The Macra President carries out a two year term and has a very influential position nationally. The 2011 candidates for election are Thomas Dolan, Wicklow, Alan Jagoe, Cork and Dara Kavanagh, Wexford.   Clodagh Macra will hold a fundraising Table quiz at 9pm sharp on April 1 with live music after in the Clodagh Bar Borrisoleigh. DCT semi-final takes place in Boru Brú, Cashel on 3 April. North Tipperary will be represented by Clodagh and Moyne clubs On 15th-16th April Mr. Personality takes place in Springhill’s Hotel Kilkenny, best of luck to Martin Fogarty. On 21 April Moyne Macra will hold their annual Holy Thursday Table quiz, teams of 4 are €20. On 24th April, Limerick Easter Ball takes place in Woodlands, Adare. Are you interested in a trip that Macra’s Rural Youth Initiative committee are organizing to the Highland Show? Book your own flights and Macra will organize accommodation for the 24th and 25th of June costing only €100. Why not get involved in your local Macra club? Membership is only €20 for new members.
