Nenagh Eire Og Camogie Club Notes

The u 8s are training on Tuesdays from 5.30 to 6.30, There has been a great attendance so far but we are keen to get as many girls as we can so that we can help them  reach their full sporting potential. We can provide Hurleys and Helmets to newcomers to get them over the initial cost. Please contact any member of the committee or myself at 0872859125 for further details. We have already over 130 members joined up in this fast growing club and the club is now well represented on county teams from u14 to senior.

Congratulations to Rachel Maher Grace O Brien and Michelle Collins on making the Tipperary u 14 panel.

We ran a very successful u 16 blitz on Sunday in the C.B.S grounds in Nenagh. Carrig Riverstown Ballina and Newport made up the teams along with the young Nenagh Eire Og team Coached by Ger Morris Derek Lillis and Louise Hickey. It was a great days hurling from all teams and the girls from all teams enjoyed the day. Nenagh Eire Og won two out of the three games in what was a great dress rehearsal for Nenagh Eire Ogs first championship match next Sunday at 5 o clock in McDonagh park against Moneygall.  As usual the parents and committee members worked very hard in the background to feed everyone and clean up the hall and pitches afterwards and of course the officials on the day. Congratulations to all the children from Nenagh that participated in the Scor na bPaisti this year which culminated in the county final last Sunday in Cashel.  Eva MckEOGH won the solo singing competition and the ballad group of Maire Long Sinéad Long Orlaith Kennedy Sarah Kennedy and Susan O Hara were pipped at the post in an excellent competition in the Ballad Group section. It is an amazing achievement for the newly reformed Scor group representing Nenagh Eire Og and it is an integral part of what our club is about. Well done to MAIRÉAD Long and her team for all their hard work in preparing the children for this competition.    Yours sincerely Séamie Morris
