Annual General Meeting of Clonoulty Rossmore Vintage Club

The Annual General Meeting of Clonoulty Rossmore Vintage Club was held on the 11th March 2011 in Clonoulty Hall. The following officers were elected President John Crowley, Chairman Liam O’Dwyer, Vice Chairman TJ Donnelly, Secretary Judy Hayes, Assistant Secretary Joseph Kearney, Treasurer Tricia Mulhall, PROs Sean Ryan and Mary Hennessy. General  Committee members Fr. Tom  Egan, Padraigh Kearney, Ollie Quinn, Seamus Hennessy, Billy Maher, Jim Ryan Casey and Liam Morris.

In 2010 the year commenced with the club taking part in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Littleton, where we won the overall price and best Vintage float and best visitor. In Cashel we came second overall and received a price of €500 and in Thurles we received a price of €250 and best Vintage float.

On the 10th July we held a bucket collection in the towns of Thurles, Cashel, Clonmel and Tipperary where we raised €10,127. On Sunday the 18th July we held a Vintage Car and Tractor Run around the parish which ended with a barbeque at Coffey’s of Stouke.

The 10th Annual Vintage Rally was held on Sunday the 22nd August, it was a very successful day with a large amount of exhibitors in attendance, live music was by Rebel Hearts, a large number of side-shows for everyone including entertainment for the kids, approximately 2,000 people attended the rally.

On Saturday the 25th September we presented €25,000 to Senida Jansen of South Tipperary Hospice Movement, followed by an Auction of vouchers and goods donated by patrons, this money will go towards running costs of this year’s Vintage Rally.

At the AGM the Chairman Liam O’Dwyer thanked the committee members, local Gardai, friends, families and anyone who helped to make the year a huge success.  Special thanks was given to Joe & Helen Hammersley for the use of their field for the Rally each year and Rossmore Racquetball Club for their help with the bucket collection.

Work is has already commenced this year with the club taking part in the Littleton, Cashel and Thurles St. Patrick’s Day parades. This year’s fund raising activities were discussed at the AGM with details to be finalised at future meetings.
