The John Giles Foundation Walk of Dreams project is a fundraising initiative to raise funds which will be distributed to Clubs, Schools and various Community Groups. It is the aspiration of the Foundation that the Walk of Dreams fundraising event will see participation from the 2,600 affiliated Soccer Clubs across the country. John Gile’s autobiography “A Football Man” was launched last November and as a mark of generosity and commitment to the Foundation, John Giles has kindly donated all sales proceeds to the fund. The Vision of the Foundation is to create stronger, safer and friendlier communities throughout Ireland; making opportunities a right, not a privilege. John Giles said “I grew up, like many of us did, playing on the street. We were just having fun and had never heard of professional football. I never dreamt of where it would take me, or realised what a difference the sport was making to our community. Today it’s a different story, with different rules, and now more than ever people at risk need our support”
