Academy Award Winning Crime Drama at Nenagh Arts Centre

The Academy Award best foreign language film ‘The Secret in their Eyes’ screens at 8 p.m. in Nenagh Arts Centre next Thursday 3rd March.

This Argentinian film follows a retired judge Benjamin Esposito, who goes to investigate a case from his past. Ostensibly he plans to write a book about the case, a murder, but is soon drawn into an obsessive quest to track down the person he believes is responsible for the crime. This is a superior crime drama with a love story at its core. In his early career, Esposito was compromised at the original investigation, but his personal re-opening of the case allows him the opportunity to redeem himself.

Director Juan Jose Campenella comes with good credentials – he has spent the past few years directing episodes of ‘Law and Order’ ’30 Rock’ and ‘House’ for American television before returning to his homeland to make this film. The New York Times described ‘The Secret in Their Eyes’ as “an attractive, messy drama, riddled with violence and edged with comedy that comes with a suggestion of politics and three resonant, deeply appealing performances.”

Patrons call into the Arts Centre in the Town Hall, Banba Square, Nenagh to purchase tickets for this lauded film. The film is certified for 16 years or older.  Tickets are €6 and booking online for this and all Arts Centre events is available at
