Backstage Academy of Performing Arts will be holding an ‘Open Day’ for new students aged 8-18 on Tuesday 25th January from 6.15pm-8.45pm at The Source Arts Centre.

Backstage runs every Tuesday evening at the Source.

During the two and a half hour session each week, the students undertake a series of workshops ranging from Drama and Singing, to different styles of Dance, Mime and Production work.

There are also visiting tutors for Acting for Camera, Model work, Circus skills, Stand-up Comedy, Castings/Auditions and Musical Theatre.

Backstage staff are a unique combination of theatre practitioner and teacher and are highly respected for their work throughout the country.

Backstage not only looks at performing skills-it also looks at the development of the individual and encourages self-confidence and speech fluency.

The Open Day allows, young people who might be interested in joining, the opportunity to experience what Backstage has to offer.

Entry to the ‘Open Day’ is free of charge but you must arrive on time for a 6.15pm sharp start and you must stay for the full session. There is no need to book in advance-just come along. Young people under 12 should be accompanied by a parent but the parent is not required to stay.

The fee is 15 Euro per weekly session and this is paid weekly.
