A Great Weekend Planned for The Source

There is a great weekend planned between the 4th and the 6th February at The Source, when the best in music, comedy and theatre will take to the stage.

Des Bishop

The weekend will kick off on Friday night when Scotland’s first lady of country music, Isla Grant will be appearing at the venue. She is in Thurles as part of her nationwide tour and promises an evening of great music featuring many of her hits, mixed with some new material from her latest album. Isla is famous for creating a great atmosphere at her shows, so this is one not to be missed.

Theatre is the order of the day on Saturday 5th when The Source will present Marathon. This critically acclaimed show was directed by Niall Cleary and had sound design by Carl Kennedy, both of whom took part in The Source’s new writing project, Inkubator. The guys are returning to Thurles with a show about two men who are running, not just to take part in a race, but also to find themselves. This is a funny, energetic and brave play with a twist in it’s tale that is sure to stay with you long after you have left the theatre.

To round off the weekend on Sunday night, The Source features Ireland’s favourite American, Des Bishop, back again with his latest show, My Dad Was Nearly James Bond. When Des brought this show to The Source at the end of last year, demand for the tickets was so high that they had to book a return visit. This show centres around his relationship with his father and is as touching as it is funny.

So clear your diaries for a very special weekend of entertainment.
