Thurles Violinist Maria Mason to Join The Three Tenors at The Source

the-source-maria1It has often been said that Thurles punches above its weight when it comes to producing talented people in the performing arts. One such person is Maria Mason, who will be appearing with The Three Tenors at The Source Arts Centre this Friday, 22nd October.

Maria has been playing music since she was three and has quite a career behind her already. She was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Irish Academy of Music and is a graduate of Trinity College. Since graduating she has constantly been in demand as a session musician and has gained experience in all areas of music from classical to pop. She has toured the world with a veritable who’s who of groups and artists including The Irish Chamber Orchestra, Frances Black, Phil Coulter, Andrea Bochelli, Boyzone and Rod Stewart to name but a few.

She is currently touring with The Three Tenors, who are just back from the UK where their show played to packed houses. In fact one reviewer in the London Times said, “I would recommend The Three Tenors wonderful show to anyone. It’s the most delicious box of chocolates your ears could ever have.” The trio of John Scott, David Martin and Alex Hall will be bringing their unique crossover/classic mix to the Thurles venue, including some of the most popular songs ever written. Highlights of the night are sure to include Love Me Tender, My Way, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah and of course Nessun Dorma. This very special show is at The Source for one night only, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to say you were there.

The Three Tenors with Maria Mason are at The Source Arts Centre on 22nd October at 8pm.
