Musical Genius Philip Donnelly to play in Borrisoleigh

philip-donnellyThis Bank Holiday Weekend sees the arrival of one of Ireland’s most gifted and popular musicians to Finn’s Bar in Borrisoleigh. Philip Donnelly has a long musical career which began in the 1960s when he was a member of Elmer Fudd, part of the emerging Irish rock scene which also included Them, Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, and Taste. He is an active authority on Celtic, Country, Rock and Blues guitar, and his unique style has been employed by some of the world’s greatest recording artists for over 30 years.

Throughout the 70s and 80s Philip toured with Johnny Cash, The Everly Brothers, John Prine, Emmylou Harris, Nanci Griffith, Townes Van Zandt and Donovan to name but a few.

Philip co-wrote Crystal Gayle’s number one hit song ‘Living in these Troubled Times’. His gold discs include Don William’s million selling album ‘ I Believe in Love’ the biggest Country single of all time.

He has appeared on numerous TV shows at home and abroad. Irish viewers might have seen him on The Late Late Show, Kenny Live, Live at Three and The Bibi Show
