Irish Chamber Orchestra to bring Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to The Source.

orchestraMusic lovers are guaranteed an extra special treat on Friday 1st October, when the Irish Chamber Orchestra come to Thurles with a jam packed programme featuring Vivaldi’s much loved masterpiece, The Four Seasons. The Irish Chamber Orchestra are renowned for their flair and performance and are well known as one of Ireland’s leading cultural ambassadors. In fact they spent the summer on tour in China where they performed for President Mary McAleese in Shanghai. This visit to Thurles is part of an exclusive tour of just six selected venues, so it is indeed a rare opportunity to have an experience like this on our doorstep.

The concert also features pieces by Puccini and Rossini and continues an Italian theme throughout the evening. The main piece, however, will be a stunning performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons featuring the immense talent of Katherine Hunka on violin. This classic piece has timeless appeal and has enchanted audiences for years. In recent years the Four Seasons has become synonymous with British virtuoso Nigel Kennedy, who has performed with The Irish Chamber Orchestra.
