For those thinking about starting a business, but not sure about what is involved.

TRAINING AIM: This programme will introduce participants to the steps involved in starting their own business. The course will provide an opportunity to investigate current and future options, along with the cost implications and grants and other supports available.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES : At the end of the course, Trainees will be able to understand:

  • What Makes a Successful Entrepreneur?
  • Implications for income tax and social welfare
  • Back to Work Allowance – am I eligible?
  • DELL/European Globalisation Fund – How do I access it?
  • Registration Obligations
  • Dealing with Banks
  • Dealing with Accountants and other Professionals
  • Revenue and legal considerations
  • What matters most?  SALES and CASH
  • How to prepare a Business Plan*
  • Research questions and where to get the answers
  • Assessing the risk and having an exit strategy
  • Where to go from here?

*A Business Plan Template supplied in hard copy on the day. Soft copy emailed to Trainees following course. Panel of Mentors available to assist early start-ups.
