Get Rid of Your Bin at the Cloughjordan Festival

Hosting nearly 70 events over 10 days, this year’s Cloughjordan Festival features events for nearly everyone and every budget. The full programme is now online at Bookings are being taken for the Summer School of Music on 086 8105319.

One of the more unusual festival events is Get Rid of Your Bin with Feidhlim Harty on Sunday, 27 June at 2pm in the Methodist Hall, Main Street, Cloughjordan. This seminar looks at household waste generation and how to reduce it. In lively discussion, you will get a chance to explore why throwing things away isn’t all that healthy for us or the planet and discover how you can reduce your own waste and save on waste disposal charges into the bargain. This is a workshop of discovery for the whole family. The admission fee is €20 per household if you book in advance, so bring all the family members (but not the dog!) to learn how to save money by reducing your waste. Included in the cost is a copy of Feidhlim’s book, Get Rid of Your Bin, which you can take home with you.

Also taking place Sunday, 27 June is the 20k/50k club cycle, the family cycle and picnic, The Craft of Novel Writing with Tracy Culleton, Wildflowers in the Garden with Dominic Waldron, Building with Cob with Eileen Flanagan, music by Turbulance, the Cloughjordan Cineclub showing of Food Inc, music by the O’Connell Sisters, and tours of the ecovillage.
