Award Winning Documentary to be shown at The Source

There will be a great night for all film buffs at The Source on Wednesday 30th June when the Thurles arts centre will be screening the Irish documentary film, His and Hers, in which a group of 70 women from the Irish midlands are interviewed. Cut together in short bursts, the overall effect is very touching. The interviews cover all manner of subject matter and give us a great insight into the lives of these women. This really is a cradle to grave look at life through the eyes of womanhood, as the ages of the interviewees range from a child in a cot to a 90 year old lady in a nursing home.

The film has received great reviews and has won the world cinematography award at the Sundance Film Festival 2010, The Audience Award at The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2010 and Best Irish Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh. This film is not about other people, it is about ourselves. One venue has been chosen in each county to screen this film and The Source in Thurles has been chosen as Tipperary’s location. The Irish can really punch above our weight, when it comes to cinema. This film is no exception. See it on the big screen while you can.

His & Hers is at The Source Arts Centre on Wednesday 30th June at 8pm. Tickets €8 / €6 concession.
