Win free tickets to Mary McPartlan gig Cloughjordan 26th May

mary-mc-partlanThe Cloughjordan Festival is giving away two free pairs of tickets to acclaimed singer Mary McPartlan’s gig at the launch of the Cloughjordan Festival Summer School of Music programme on Wednesday, 26 May at 8pm in St. Kieran’s Church.

As part of her national tour, award-winning Mary McPartlan ( brings an evening of trad, folk and the blues to Cloughjordan. She will be supported by local band Turbulance and Kathryn Browne.

Turbulance is a folk-rock and blues partnership between two extraordinary 12-year old guitarists, Cloughjordan resident Liam Hannon and Meath-based Aidan Duffy.

Talented multi-instrumentalist Kathryn Browne has been an active member of Roscrea Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and plays with Ceoltóirí na Sionainne. She recently played fiddle for the soundtrack of the film “The Woman of the Burren”.

Kathryn and Liam will both be participating in the Cloughjordan Festival Summer School of Music.

Mary McPartlan’s tour has been organised by the Rural Arts Network, which trains and supports individuals and local communities to promote arts and cultural events.

Tickets are €8 and are on sale in advance from Austin’s Centra and Sheelagh na Gig bookshop, Cloughjordan. Proceeds from the event support the Cloughjordan Festival.
