Teen Summer Comedy Camp in The Source, Thurles

Any budding Dara o’ Briain or Katherine Lynch should be interested in the TEEN COMEDY SUMMER CAMP which takes place at the Source Arts Centre,Thurles from 12th-16th July.

Open to 13-18 year olds, the comedy camp works on stand –up and improvised comedy and by the end of the week a new generation of teen comedians will get an opportunity to perform as part of a full comedy show.

The camp will look at basic technique, performance, stand-up comedy, improvised comedy and comedy material. So if you think you’re funny, grab an application form from the Source Arts Centre and make it quick because places are very limited-only the first 25 teens will get places. The fee for the full week is 60 Euro.

The Comedy camp is being run by Backstage Academy of Performing Arts who specialise in work with young people. The company has the only teen comedy team in Ireland and the UK and these 13-16 year olds were awarded a three star review at last year’s Edinburgh Festival.
