The best of Ireland’s theatre in one night at The Source

The Source Arts centre is hosting a very special evening on Thursday 29th April, when The Irish Canon (abridged) will be on stage at the Thurles venue. Three actors will be hurtling through ten of the most famous Irish plays ever written. On the way there will be over seventy character changes and tons of hilarity as the actors try to keep pace with the frenetic schedule involved.

Watch as Cathleen Ni Houlihan becomes the Bull McCabe in the blink of an eye. Over one hundred years of Irish theatre is covered in this unashamedly tongue in cheek, abridged version of the real thing. Watch as the sense of fun builds and the situation is never far from descending into comic chaos. The humour that pervades this production is constantly bubbling to the surface, but is just kept from boiling over into an absolute meltdown.

Featuring a cast of thousands condensed into one evening performance, you might not get a great insight into the history of Irish theatre, you will, However have one of the funniest most enjoyable experiences you ever had in the theatre.

The Irish Canon (abridged) is at The Source Arts Centre on Thursday 29th April at 8pm. Tickets €20 / €18 concession.
