Mick Lally and George (Mondo) McMahon return to The Source

gods-officialThere is cause for celebration on Friday 23rd April when two old favourites, Mick Lally and George McMahon return to The Source Arts Centre. Mick was last in the Thurles venue appearing opposite Mary McEvoy in J.B. Keane’s The Matchmaker and George was last there in the hugely successful Caught in the Net. They are now appearing together in the hilarious God’s Official.

This laugh a minute show centres around the adventures of two football fans, who take matters into their own hands when their team is relegated following a goal disallowed by a bad refereeing decision. They plan to hold the referee prisoner until he changes his mind and overturns his earlier decision. A series of madcap situations unfold that will keep you rolling in the aisles laughing as things go from bad to worse for our two would be kidnappers.

To some people football is a matter of life and death. To others it is far more important than that. This show was a massive hit at the Edinburgh festival and is very timely following the Thierry Henry incident. Some times life can reflect art.

God’s Official is at The Source Arts Centre on Friday 23rd April at 8pm. Tickets €20 / €18 concession.
