Drom-Inch were hosts to Holycross Ballycahill in the Ragg in the county senior hurling league on Sunday last on a fine humid afternoon. Despite both teams fielding below strength teams this contest served up some great passages of play. Drom-Inch started brightest and racked up some very good scores from play. Holycross fought back with a combination of points from play and placed balls. Drom got the breakthrough they needed when some nice passing among the half forward resulted in Liam Ryan finishing to the net. Paddy Kennedy, Phillip Looby and Michael Cantwell caught the eye in the first half with some good scores. At half time the home side were ahead by 4 points, 1-10 to 0-9.  Drom-Inch would have hoped to continue on from where they left off in the first half and they started brightly with scores from Michael Cantwell and Paddy Kennedy. However this was to be their last score for a long period as Holycross took control and scored goals through Rob Stakelum (2) and the impressive James Dunne which gave them the upper hand and a comfortable victory in the end by 12 points. Best for Holycorss were John Ferncombe and goal scorers Stakelum and Dunne while the defence were well on top in the second half.  Best for Drom-Inch were Paddy Kennedy, Michael Cantwell, Matthew Ryan, who all registered some fine scores, while they were best served in the defence by Donncha Kennedy and Liam Kennedy.
