Fine Gael Tipperary North Deputy Noel Coonan, who chairs the Polish Irish Parliamentary Friendship Group, has sent his sympathy and that of the group to the Polish people after the tragic death of President Lech Kaczynski.

“On my behalf and on behalf of Irish parliamentarians I wish to express our heartfelt sorrow at the death of the President and so many other eminent Polish citizens in a tragic plane crash today.  I send our sympathies to the Polish Ambassador, Tadeusz Szumowski, the Polish people and the Polish community in Ireland, particularly those in Tipperary North.”
