Tipperary Vintage Rally Easter Sunday April 4th

Tipperary Vintage Rally

Tipperary Vintage Rally

The final preparations are now being made for this years Tipperary Vintage Rally to be held at the Tipperary racecourse this Easter Sunday, April 4th. This year there will be an additional event on the Saturday when owners and riders of the Honda 50 moped will take a trip out through the Glen of Aherlow in a further bid to raise funds for the South Tipperary Hospice. 100 -200 machines are expected to start off from the racecourse at 4 o’clock and head towards Bansha before turning up through the Glen and back over via Christ the King which should be quite a site. Photographs taken of the run will be eligible for the Tipp Rally Photo Competition which has an Olympus digital compact camera as first prize kindly provided by Kisanes Pharmacy. This years theme for the Competition is Machine and Man (or women) and the judges will be looking for the best portrayal of the relationship between any person and any machine taken at the rally or Honda run.

Further prizes are available with the Tipp Rally raffle and the organisers are extremely grateful to O’Conner Bothers Electrical and Jack Leonard TV services for the donation of a Zanussi Washing machine and Colour TV for the first two tickets drawn. Tickets will be available for sale at the Honda run and Rally itself. Meanwhile thanks to Arra Veterinary Services and  Burns Pet Nutrition the dog show has been opened up to 10 classes so there will be the opportunity for all dogs to be entered free with registration starting at 1:30pm.

This year it has been decided to make a feature of Porsche tractors and cars and it is hoped that there will be over 20 tractors from the company on show which will be the largest gathering of the make in Ireland. Although Porsche was only involved in tractor production for ten years there was quite a variety of machinery produced and a good selection of the range will be on view. Likewise it is hoped that there will be many of their cars present too and if you own one then you will be especially welcome to bring it along.

Full details of the attractions and activities can be found on the rally website which is www.tipprally.com
